Collegiate Pilot Training

MTT Aviation Services and Pennsylvania Highlands Community College (PHCC) are pleased to offer you the opportunity to enroll in our two-year Professional Pilot Associate of Science (A.S.) Degree Program.

Thank you for your interest in our Professional Pilot Program.  I hope that you are seriously considering attending PHCC and MTT Aviation very soon.  Whether you are looking to train towards a Private Pilot License for recreational flying or towards a Commercial Pilot License for a professional pilot career, we will guide you through every step of the way to achieve your goals.

Why should you decide to enroll in our professional pilot program as opposed to starting out at a four year University?  The answer is simple; cost savings, quality of training in all weather conditions, and individual attention.  You will experience relatively low flight training fees and Community College tuition rates for the same quality of training you would receive at a large University.  After completing our two-year A.S. Degree in Professional Pilot, you may decide to either transfer to a four year University or qualified graduates with a Certified Flight Instructor certificate may begin right here at MTT Aviation building flight time as a Flight Instructor.

After one year of general education courses and completion of the Private Pilot Certification, you may decide to pursue Air Traffic Control or Aviation Management through an agreement between PHCC and the Community College of Beaver County (CCBC). CCBC will accept the courses and training you complete with MTT Aviation and PHCC for transfer credit. The CCBC Aviation Science Center is located North of Pittsburgh in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.

The Faculty, Staff, and Flight Instructors care about you and your goals.  Our Flight Instructors are all professional career Pilots with airline and corporate pilot backgrounds.  They have a combined experience of 30,000 flight hours.  Our instructors care about you individually.  Your professional development is our primary concern and we want you to become a part of this exciting and very special aviation community.

Each student completing the Professional Pilot Program successfully will have obtained a Private Pilot Certificate, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Rating, and Certified Instructor Rating.  Flight instruction is provided by MTT Aviation, the college approved fixed-base operator.

Costs for the courses are based on standard rates for tuition and fees.  Flight training labs have additional fees to cover the cost of flight time (plane, fuel, instructor) and materials. Financial aid is available to those who qualify.  Veterans should inquire about using GI Bill benefits to cover costs.
